I posted the question below on the 4Runner Garage Forum but, in retrospect, it might be of broader interest to this General Mechanical Forum as well.
Have any of you encountered an issue where the crankshaft pulley AC drive sheave is not deep/wide enough to cover the OEM stock factory AC drive V belt so that it is wearing out drive belts quickly because of belt slippage (insufficient sheave friction surface to turn the belt without slippage)? A very thin fringe of belt material is left on both sides of the drive belt. Vehicle is a 2005 4Runner SR5 with an intercooled, turbocharged 1KZ-TE engine. Toyodiy.com indicates that the crankshaft part number is 13408-67020.
