Hey Guys new this forum have a few issues with my 1990 2lt at the moment that I was wondering if you could help with.

Glow Plugs
First issue is that my glow plugs aren't working. Was starting fine from cold then one morning it wouldn't start at all quick spray of starter in the air intake and fires right up. Starts perfect all day once its being fired up once. I put new glow plugs in no difference. Have tested with volt meter and have no power to them. Any ideas what this could be? Im thinking the relay but wanted a second opinion.

Throttle Position Sensor
Red Turbo light is on. Idle is at 500rpm (has being at this whole time iv owned it). Runs great no issues with power or boost. I connected a wire on the terminals and got the fault code 41 which is the throttle position sensor. I have installed a new TPS and no difference also noticed the idle wouldn't adjust this way. On my KZ I noticed that there is two what id say is prongs that come from the throttle body into the TPS. But on my Ln there is only 1. Any ideas what this could be. Would be happy just to know another way to adjust Idle and then just how to reset the code if possible.

Rear Window / Rear Wiper
My third and final problem is my rear window. Winds down fine on the key in the door but wont on the switch inside. I unplugged it blow it out and made sure the little bit inside moved up and down nicely plugged back in again no difference. I then got a wire and connected the plugs trying different ones. like id seen on google. The rear window didn't move at all. But the rear window wiper did start going which has never worked in it since iv owned it. Any ideas how to fix the window not worried about wiper but if its easy will fix to.

Sorry about that lot of typing there. All good advice welcome. Like i said earlier am new to the forum and will start looking over it now to see if any of these questions have already being answered (Apologies in advance if so). Thanks very much in advance for any help. O:) O:) O:)

first thing is which 2lt do you have.
is the TPS on the injection pump or the intake tube?

glows, check the fuse (or is it fuseable link?). its common to blow that.

the other thing is you could have an issue with the ecu or its sensors.
the model with tps on the injection afaik its codes are different that of the efi model.
it runs an emission ecu which controls the egr and glow plug systems.

ok you have the 2lt D-turbo, not 2lte which most of the codes are for.
i don't recall a list of 2lt codes. probably why the tps change didn't work.
if you have egr blocked off and butterflys bypassed then the ecu/tps doesn't actually do a lot. the only other thing it controls is the glow plugs (and possibly auto gearbox).

so its a matter of chasing down whats getting power. make sure the relay is getting power.
then check its getting signal to turn glows on. if it is check relay has power on the output.
if no signal to relay then the main thing ecu needs for glows is the coolant temp sensor on the side of the block.
there is also a possibility of it being the ecu itself. really common for those ecu to have caps that fail causing all sorts of issues. just old age, its 30 years old!

one way around it is to manualise the glows. rig a push button so you can manually turn the glows on. or get a glow timer out of a hilux, hiace, 2.8 surf, 4runner etc.

Hey blown fuse so replaced that and the piece of plastic on the glow rail had cracked so replaced that to now glow plugs work mint. Cheers for pointing me to the path of the egr to i recently bought it so am not sure if its being done or not i noticed that a few of the vacume pipes had being moved around so put them back in the correct places. this turned the red light off took it for a lap of the block fine but green light never came on i unplugged the turbo pressure sensor plugged it back in and the red light was back.

the vac pipes may have been incorrect on purpose. check out "turbo boost fix". basically you make it so the egr butterfly doesn't close but the engine shut off one does.
