I think the Tech Site should be made into a Wiki.
That way everyone could pitch in and contribute, anyone can create and edit pages.
Plus a lot of the info in there is out of date or missing altogether so it would be a good way to grow the site with user generated content.
Anyhow I've already gone ahead and made a test one just to see how easy it was, you can see it at
http://dron.com.au/surfwiki/. It only took me an hour or two to install it and make 2 sample pages.
I'm no phpBB expert but it should be possible to migrate all the user accounts across to MediaWiki so that people could use the same login for both sections of the site.
It would be good too for people to be able to post their own modification guides.
Could migrate the FAQ sections across there eventually too. Sort of a Surf encyclopaedia.
